Argument of Fact

When it comes to cancer there are many different misconceptions. However, the misconception that I would like to clarify the most in my argument of fact would have to be the financial situation of the family and prove if outside organizations pay for the medical expenses. Most people don’t always see or have any idea of the financial situation that the family of the cancer patient goes through and how much debt they get in to. In my argument of fact I would like to provide some new information about the different ways in which the family can get in to debt. Also, I would like to provide the different ways in which the family starts to loose their jobs. The overall issue I would like to discuss is the family’s financial situation during the hard times they face with cancer patients.
My hypothesis is that the family gets help paying for the medical expenses through their insurance and other organizations and that they have trouble paying for personal expenses because they looses their job. Some facts that might convince the readers would be the statistics of the number of people who have lost their jobs or quit because of being with the patient. Also, the testimonies of people who have a loved one with cancer and who have had financial situations because of it. Some facts that I still need are the different types of organizations that are available to cancer patients to help pay for medical expenses. Also, I need the different types of ways that people get in to debt because of cancer. Thank you for your interest on this subject.

A little more about my research...

After carefully searching and sorting through all of the information on the articles for my topic I definitely feel like I learned a lot. For example, I found out about the effect of cancer on the children when one of their parents has it. I was definitely not expecting to find research about the kids and how they felt about cancer so I was really shocked to find that their was more than a couple of articles over the kids. Another interesting thing that I found out after researching my topic was the effect that it has on people’s romantic relationships. For example, I found research that described how after the patient got diagnosed with cancer it put a strain on the relationship and led to the couple filing for divorce.
After comparing all three articles I could see that they had many similarities the number one being the financial situation of the families and their daily struggle with money because of having to take care of the patient. Also, I got read over the affects that the children go through when their parents are diagnosed with cancer and how they feel and manage to understand what is going on. I honestly feel that I learned a lot about my topic. However, I would like to know more about the organizations that help the patients with cancer and their families. One of the most important things that I would like to know and research further is how the family reacts after the death of a patient with cancer and if they prepare themselves financially afterwards in case this kind of situation happened to them again. Researching the effect that parents have when one of their child is diagnosed with cancer would also be great to incorporate in to my topic to see both sides. Finally, I feel like the journal articles have helped me with my research so I don’t think I need to look elsewhere to find my information. Thank you for reading my blog and listening to my ideas over my topic.
